As a follow up of the
author’s earlier papers the new theory of radiation reaction is placed on a
sound theoretical basis. This includes the nature of the equation of motion
both under a relativistic Lorentz transformation as well as under a
non-relativistic Galilean transformation. It is claimed that both momentum and
energy carried out by the radiated fields need to be considered to reach the
desired results. It is also shown that the radiation reaction force is non
linearly dependent on the externally applied force.
